Titanium dioxide(Tio2) - Anatase grade

Titanium dioxide, also known as Titania, is the naturally occurring oxide of titanium (chemical formula Tio2) and is as old as the earth itself. It occurs in nature as well-known minerals anatase & rutile, and has a wide range of applications, from paint to sunscreen to food colouring. Titanium dioxide is the most widely used white pigment because of its brightness and very high refractive index.


Process

BMCTitania – BTA 100 is manufactured through the Sulphate process from the Ilmenite ore. Ilmenite, a blend of Titanium Dioxide & Iron Oxide, when reacted with Sulphuric Acid it split up into ionic state in solution, which on hydrolysis transforms into Hydrated Titanium Dioxide. Further calcining at high temperature, the Hydrated Titanium Dioxide is converted into crystalline form, which is subsequently milled in to powder. The milled pigment is packed in 25 kgs packing.


Application

Titanium Dioxide Anatase, due to its unique properties has a diverse usage in various industrial applications such as Coatings, Rubber, Textile, Plastics, Paper, Cosmetics, Printing Inks etc.
